Samsung launches mass production of next-generation flash memory

Samsung has begun mass production of next generation mobile eMMC flash memory chips. The new eMMC Pro Class 2000 chips are reported to be available with 64Gb NAND chips; the total capacity of the memory chips will be 64 GB.

According to Samsung, the new microchips outperform Pro Class 1500 solutions. The eMMC Pro Class 2000 has sequential read and write speeds of 260 and 50 MB / original wifi names respectively. The number of input / output operations per second (IOPS) is up to 5,000 random reads and up to 2,000 write.

The dimensions of the eMMC Pro original wifi names Class 2000 chips are 11.5 x 13 mm, which is 20% smaller than the standard form factor (12 x 16 mm).

The next generation chips are expected to be used in high-performance smartphones, tablets and other devices.
